WingMan® Gadgets

This page is dedicated to power Gamers.  Throughout the development of Logitech® Gaming Software releases we use different tools to test, verify, and debug our code.

Based on the feedback and the requests that we receive on a daily basis, we have decided to share some of them with you.

As usual, use these tools at your own risk...

Here they are:

Caffeine Utility
new
Clear Calibration Utility
DXTweak 2
DX Deadzone Utility
JoyIDs Utility

MOMO® Center Adjustment Utility
Poswdm Utility

Caffeine Utility:

Description:
Caffeine.exe allows you to configure your Logitech® Cordless Freedom™ 2.4 or Logitech® Cordless Rumble™Pad sleep timeouts.  Read the readme in the application to learn about all of the features.

  • Must have Logitech Gaming Software v4.40 or later installed.

  • Download Caffeine.exe.

  • Run Caffeine.exe.

Clear Calibration Utility:

Description:
This is a small utility to get rid of all calibration data.  Read the Readme.txt for details.  This utility works with Windows® 98, Windows® 98se, Windows® Me, Windows® 2000, Windows® XP, and Windows Vista.

  • Download Readme.txt & ClrCalib.exe.
  • Read the readme.txt file.
  • Launch ClrCalib.exe and following the on-screen instructions.

DXTweak 2:

Description:
This is an update to the DXTweak application that works with newer USB devices.  Has support for Windows® 98, 98se, Me, 2000, and XPDirectX 8.0 or later is required.  Has support for loading and saving of tweaks.  See Readme.txt file for details.

Note: Under Windows® 2000/XP, the deadzone setting cannot be saved.  This is a DirectX issue and will hopefully be resolved in the next release of DirectInput.

Please provide any feedback about this utility to us.

DX Deadzone Application:

Description:
DXDeadZone allows you to change deadzone settings of a DirectInput game controller.  This utility works with Windows® 98, Windows® 98se, and Windows® Me.

After much experimentation and interaction with Microsoft®, we have confirmed that there is no possibility to globally "tweak" the DirectX deadzone for Windows® 2000/XP using DirectX 8 or DirectX 9.

Microsoft® is considering re-introducing this functionality for a later revision of DirectX.  When and if the functionality is enabled in DirectX, then we will update DXDeadZone at that time.

JoyIDs Utility:

Description:
Users that have multiple gaming devices attached to their computers will ultimately face the problem of having to deal with "joystick IDs".  A number of games are written in a way that they will only read input from a joystick with a certain ID.  The control panel (as well as Profiler) provides a way of switching IDs, but the control panel's way is cumbersome, and using Profiler to switch IDs may be somewhat annoying as well.  Both methods have the shortcoming of only being able to move a controller to ID1, without managing other IDs.

To this end, Paul has created a nice utility which allows both switching of IDs, as well as presetting several configurations (say, one for racing games, one for platformers, and another one for flight sims) that can be loaded by just double-clicking a configuration file. Paul's JoyIDs utility can be a real timesaver for those that use multiple controllers!

bullet Download the JoyIDs installer.
bullet Run the installer. JoyIDs will be installed to the location of your preference. Make sure to read the included documentation, and you'll be off switching and swapping IDs in no time!

Please provide any feedback about this utility to Paul directly, whose e-mail is available in the utility itself.

Logitech® MOMO® Force Center Adjustment Utility:

Description:
update Some customers have mentioned that even with the maximum values allowed by the utility, their wheel still remains slightly off center. Therefore, the utility has been updated so that you can enter higher values.

Even after installing WingMan® software version 4.11c or later, some users have reported a slight offset in the centering of their MOMO® Force wheels.

This means that if you were to turn the wheel completely to the left, then completely to the right, and then release the wheel, it would not appear to be centered with respect to the base.

This utility will allow users to "tweak" the center position of the wheel.

  • Download MOMOTweak.exe.
  • Launch MOMOTweak.exe.
  • Follow the instructions.

Poswdm Utility:
