DirectX Control Panel Application


You can use the Microsoft DirectX Control Panel utility, which is installed with the software development kit (SDK), to examine and modify the properties of DirectX components. This utility contains tabs for each DirectX component. Using this utility you can:

  • Obtain version information for DirectX components.
  • Change the debug output level and debug settings to aid in troubleshooting during the development process.
  • View specific driver and hardware support information for DirectX components.
  • Toggle between debug and retail versions of the run times for Microsoft Direct3D, Microsoft DirectMusic, and Microsoft DirectInput.
