Strafe Tuturial or "how to get a good 2nd jump"

How to get a good 2nd jump

Since so many people are asking "How can you reach over 600 in 2nd jump"
and weren't able to understand the most given answer
"Do an airchange between 1st and 2nd jump"
I'll explain how I do it.
Before starting: This is for ppl starting with a Left CJ
(In case that you are doing a Right CJ [as I'm doing for example]
you have to exchange Left/Right)

0° degrees is the middle angle...or the way you want to strafejump to.

First Jump:
1st step:
You do a normal CJ about ~20° to right and 390+ groundspeed at takeoff

2nd step:
While in air you move the mouse slowly and smoothly to the left.
You should have about ~20° to left when landing.

Second Jump:
1st step:
Jump and continue moving the mouse to left by about ~10°
(~30° to left in total)

2nd step:
Now the difficult part for the most players comes: Airchange!
If you reached the HP (Highest Point of the jump) you switch
the strafekey (you release leftstrafe, and hold rightstrafe instead
of leftstrafe) + moving the mouse to the right side: approximately
20° to right should have been reached after having landed the
jump.
This must happen without hecticness. Also notice that you'll reach
better 2nd jump values if you divide the mouse moving (from HP
to landing) into 2 parts:
1st part --> fast mouse moving till 0°
2nd part --> slow mousemoving from ~20° degrees to right.

A small image to explain what's meant with HP:

The following jumps should be quite clear because it's mainly
about fast and good angle hitting with the mouse.

This explanation has helped already some players, who had
problems with their 2nd jumps.
Try 2 make the best outta it

For any more questions come to #2337 to ask your questions about how things work

EDIT: Attached some good old demos of myself strafing

First off, w3sp is a she.

And secondly, about the angle. Those numbers are degrees from 0, which is pointing down the line of the strafepads or whatever.

KOS, w3sp, to my knowledge, has never publicly released a picture of herself, and never will. So keep dreaming.

there's also a df_chsx value for the angle ( not sure wich ## it is ) .. i got it on my hud. well, its relating to world axis tho, but still a good thing to see what the differences between angles are and also, if u dont fear some calculations/thinking u can convert it to the angles w3sp posted ( remember that pads are most likely parallel to world axis, means that youre strafing at 0°,90°,180°,270° wich is the 0° w3sp mentioned )

btw roffo, same :]~
