•    19 players have scored 60 goals in an NHL season; they have combined to do it 38 times
•    Five franchises, including Washington, have had two players score 60 goals in their history (none have had more than two)
•    No one before Ovechkin had scored 60 goals since 1995-96; from 1970-71, when Phil Esposito did it first, until 1995-96, there were only three seasons without a 60-goal scorer, and never two in a row (1972-73, 1979-80 and the lockout-shortened 1994-95 season)
•    Luc Robitaille holds the record for goals by a left wing with 63; Steve Shutt and Ovechkin are second with 60
