Captained the United States U-18 National team at the Eight Nations Tournament in 2002.

2005-06: In his first professional season, split his time between the Alaska Aces of the ECHL and Peoria in the AHL. Apart from being a physical presence, FitzGerald is responsible in his own end and can also contribute offensively.

Talent Analysis

One word comes to mind when mentioning FitzGerald's style of play: mean. Defensively responsible, offensively adequate, and very physical, the Seattle defenseman regularly ravages the opposition in his own end. One of the most feared enforcers in the WHL during his time, FitzGerald has led by example, taking matters into his own hands, and doing his best to prevent the opposition from taking liberties on his teammates.
