Digital Radio: Phantom 105.2 now on DAB  E-mail
thumb_dablogoPhantom 105.2 is now available on DAB digital radio in the greater Dublin area!. DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) is a new type of radio technology and is now available to listeners in north Leinster. To listen in you will need a DAB digital radio sets available from many high street electrical and hi-fi retailers. Most DAB radio sets will receive both FM and DAB stations - so you can have the best of both worlds! All DAB transmissions are free to air.

Phantom 105.2 is now part of an industry group called digitalradio.ie up to explore the development and promotion of digital radio in Ireland. This is the beginning of a collaborative effort by the radio sector to look at digital radio. The group will also be inviting all Irish radio broadcasters outside the trial area to join digitalradio.ie so that awareness of this exciting new technology is shared by all in the industry.

What is the difference between DAB and digital radio?
DAB is a new form of radio technology that requires a DAB radio set or DAB player.
Digital radio is a generic term referring to all forms of digital radio listening including online digital radio, digital radio via DTT, DRM (Digital Radio Mondiale), DAB-IP and DAB digital radio.
