LEAGUE EXPANDS TO NEW YORK

The National Lacrosse League announced today the awarding of a franchise to New York City for the 2007 season. The official announcement was made earlier today during a press conference at East River Park in Manhattan by the honorable Michael Bloomberg, Mayor of New York City and National Lacrosse League Commissioner Jim Jennings.

"It is my great pleasure to present New York City's first professional lacrosse team," said Mayor Bloomberg. "Showcasing lacrosse on the world's greatest stage here in New York City creates a partnership that will maintain lacrosse's position as the fastest growing sport in America."

***image2***In bringing professional indoor lacrosse to the largest metropolitan area in the United States, the league expands its membership to thirteen teams across the US and Canada. "Having a team in New York City has been a goal of ours for a long time", said NLL Commissioner Jim Jennings. "To play in New York, the media, entertainment and cultural capital of North America, is a major step forward in our efforts to make this league truly national. I'd like to thank Mayor Bloomberg for welcoming our New York team to the city, and congratulate the gentlemen who will own and operate what will become a key franchise for the National Lacrosse League."

The ownership group responsible for bringing professional lacrosse to New York City consists of Gary Rosenbach, founder of the Galleon Group, William E. Ford, president of General Atlantic, LLC, Mark H. Ford, CEO of Shamrock Lacrosse, Nick Leone, Senior Managing Director at The Blackstone Group, Flip Huffard, Senior Managing Director at The Blackstone Group and Richard Ullmann, president of Four Winds Financial Group, LLC.

Principal Owner Gary Rosenbach, Team President Richard Ullmann and New York City Sports Commissioner Kenneth J. Podziba attended the announcement at East River Park in Manhattan.

"The owners of the expansion New York NLL team are thrilled to bring America's fastest growing sport to the City of New York," said Team President Richard Ullmann. "New York sports fans will now have the chance to see the greatest lacrosse players in the world compete in the World's Most Famous Arena. The fast pace, high scoring action of the NLL is sure to be a success in our great city."

The team will play a minimum of four of its eight home games at Madison Square Garden. Considered the world's most famous arena, 'The Garden' is home to the NBA Knicks, NHL Rangers and a host of other premier sports and entertainment events throughout the year.

***image3***The addition of a New York franchise follows the league's earlier announcement of expansion to Chicago for 2007. The addition of New York and Chicago, the nation's first and third largest markets, respectively, brings the league's membership to thirteen teams for the 2007 season. The New York NLL team has begun accepting deposits for season tickets for their inaugural 2007 season. A $25 deposit is all that is required at this time to ensure great seats to catch all the NLL action. The team also plans to conduct a name the team contest via its website, NewYorkNLL.com.
