Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2 (GBA)
A princely port worthy of its past.

There are games from the past that are as forgettable as a Big Mac, and then there are the ones that burn themselves into your brain; the games that you always end up dreaming about when you fall asleep. Super Mario World is just such a game that deserved all of the fanfare that came with it when it was released. Now, with its revival on the Game Boy Advance, you've got a game that you'll not only think about when the gaming is done for the night, but one you'll surely take to bed with you.

I must admit that I only dabbled with Super Mario World when it was the premiere game for the newly released Super Nintendo late in 1990. I was into my Neo Geo cartridge system and failed to see a reason why my friends were so excited about yet another Mario-based platformer when I was taking out tons of baddies in SNK's NAM 1975.

Buy Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2
Was that ever a mistake! Getting my hands on Nintendo's Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2 brought back all of the wonderful days when gaming was determined by what Mario was doing, and what side of Bowser's fat ass he was gonna kick next. Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2 is, without a single shred of doubt, the most complete and satisfying game you can play on the Game Boy Advance. With all apologies to Castlevania and it's wonderful gameplay, Super Mario Advance 2 delivers in every possible way, and is now the ultra-premier game for the handheld wonder.

Hello Yoshi

With Dinosaur Island taken over by Bowser, Mario and Luigi have found themselves having to again reach the Peach. Through some of the most difficult levels in gaming history, your quest is setup to help the lasagna-packing duo take care of business once again. This go around, the developers have added Yoshi, a lovable dinosaur that has pledged his support to the crusaders, into the mix. The ability to ride Yoshi at will, while being able to explore every aspect of each level is crucial to the game. Yoshi instantly proves to be a valuable asset to Mario as he excels in attacking enemies from afar with his tongue. Yoshi rules!

Déjà Vu All Over Again

Even if you've managed to explore every virtual inch of Super Mario World, there is a pure nostalgic effect that Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2 will hit you with right between the eyes. It's like going back to the prom or getting in that first car all over again. Unless you've purchased a Game Boy Advance in order to simply hold two Duracells in pristine condition, this game is a must buy. If you are fresh to what Mario accomplished on the SNES, I envy you. There is a wonderful world awaiting you with this cart and every reason to become a Mario freak.

Also included with Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2 is the landmark Mario Bros. arcade game. While this is the only multiplayer aspect of this game, it makes for a blast of a car ride with a buddy as only one cart and a game link cable is needed.
