Moved yet again...

It's been a very long time coming but the horror film All the Boys Love Mandy Lane finally has a semi-set release day aiming sometime in August, says Ryan Rotten. This film was gaining attention from screenings last summer but distribution fell through and Senator picked it up with a desire to give it a wider theatrical release. The reasoning behind the latest repositioning is the buzz  behind Jonathan Levine's second film The Wackness, which is set to hit theaters July 3, 2008. The indie distributor hopes the audiences like his second effort and check out his first film, which is getting released a month earlier.

"Mandy" stars Amber Heard, Anson Mount, Michael Welch, Aaron Himelstein, Edwin Hodge, Whitney Able and Luke Grimes. Jonathan Levine directed, based on a screenplay by Jacob Forman.

Plot Concept: A group of high schoolers invite Mandy Lane (Amber Heard), a good girl who became quite hot over the summer, to a weekend party on a secluded ranch. While the festivities rage on, the number of revelers begins to drop quite mysteriously.

I can't even think of the las GOOD horror film I have seen. I think the Dawn of the Dead remake is one of the last ones....although, I have enjoyed the Saw movies, they are more splatter than horror. I like Horror where you are actually scared, not grossed out....oh, and I thought the Decent and Feast were good too.

The first Saw movie kicked ass. The second was "more splatter than horror" as you say. Beyond that, I don't watch many horror movies for exactly that reason.

Sounds somewhat interesting.

I watched the new day of the Dead and P2 last night. DotD was weak story and acting wise, but lots of zombie gore. I can't recommend it, but I have seen far worse.

P2 was pretty decent, some good gore, but not overdone with it. Wes Bentley does a good job of being creepy, which probably made the movie.

Hey bj - Does Day Of The Dead have ANYTHING to do with the original besides the zombie factor?

Not at all.

The title and zombies, that is it.

I can only assume they used the title as a draw, because it has nothing to do with the original or even the Dawn remake.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was figuring'. Thanks for confirming, bj. Sumbitches. Fuckin' shame what people will rape just to get a better marketing angle. I'll eventually check it out... when I can do it for FREE.
