Morrissey
"You Have Killed Me" (Attack/Sanctuary)
AV Club, director | Anne Johnson & Ute Leonhardt, producers | The Directors Bureau, production co | Jesse Green, DP | Description: AV Club lovingly recreate a vintage, yet fictional Italian TV appearance of Morrissey and band performing this lead single off new album Ringleader Of The Tormentors. In a testament to AV Club's commitment to authenticity, the video was shot in Rome, Italy and the footage was appropriately fuzzed up so as to look like an old VHS bootleg. -- Watch "You Have Killed Me" at Myspace or The Director's Bureau

"Beast & The Harlot" (Warner Bros.)
Tony Petrossian, director | Nicole Acacio, producer | Rockhard Films, production co | Robin Frank Management, rep | Pat Darrin, DP | Richard Alarcon, editor | Description: Avenged Sevenfold and their squad of harlots bring some unsuspecting victims over the dark side. Usually using the lure of sex, they're able to convert a wannabe showgirl, a scuzzy ladies' man, some strippers and even a young boy into their evil circle. Once the victim is infected, black spidery dendrites race to cover their skin, until they're totally encased in a shiny, black shell. As all this chaos ensues, Ax7 perform this downright wicked, old school-influenced metal tune amongst their already pleasantly sordid fans. -- watch "Beast & The Harlot"

DVD: They Might Be Giants "Venue Songs"
They Might Be Giants "Venue Songs"
Idlewild Recordings
Description: Challenged by former literary agent/author/deranged millionaire John Hodgman, They Might Be Giants wrote and performed an original song in honor of each and every venue at which they performed on a 2004 tour. The results are here on a DVD/CD set that contains a CD with the original recordings and in situ versions of the venue songs, in addition to a DVD with videos for 15 tracks. The videos are all as short, quick and quirky as the songs themselves, simply illustrating the basic crux of each tune. Directors with videos on the disc include Colourmovie, David Ahuja and TMBG member John Flansburgh.
Mr. Hodgman provides intros to each video, that are as clever and funny as the songs and videos themselves. Venue Songs is currently being streamed at tmbg.com, with the DVD/CD set available exclusively there as well.

NEW RELEASE: Old Time Relijun "Wolves and Wolverines"
Old Time Relijun
"Wolves and Wolverines" (K Records)
Zak Margolis, director
Description: Animator Zak Margolis brings a fittingly strange tale to life in this video for this psychotic blast of jubilantly evil, yet funky noise rock from Old Time Relijun. A middle aged poor slob is haunted by memories of his deceased wife. Although she does indeed visit him as a beautiful angel, she also chops his head off in the backyard. Meanwhile, a group of manimals run an assembly line where they create winged pigs. Perhaps these were the human-animal hybrids President George W. Bush was trying to warn us about during the State of the Union speech? -- watch "Wolves And Wolverines"

NEW RELEASE: Flyleaf "I'm So Sick"
Flyleaf
"I'm So Sick" (Octone)
Brothers Strause, directors | Rock Bice, producer | Tight, production co | Description: It's clear after a few seconds of this video that Flyleaf singer Lacey Mosley is really only "so sick" in the the head. Some of the symptoms include her mastery of several self-absorbed heavy metal singer poses, a blurring effect that makes it clear that reality is distorted and, of course, the padded walls of the performance locale.

NEW RELEASE: Madonna "Sorry"
Madonna
"Sorry" (Warner Bros.)
Jamie King, director | Nicola Doring, producer | HSI, production co | Tim Maurice Jones, DP | Jonah Sederberg, editor | Description: The boombox, the leotards and the dancers from Madonna's "Hung Up" video are all back in her new effort "Sorry." In a nice twist on the Bang Bus concept, Madonna and her gal pals pick up unsuspecting men for some good times aboard their van. The van drops them off at a warehouse location where Madonna and crew take on the guys in a steel cage dance battle, before the entire scene transitions to a roller disco bash. All in all, it's very weird and very random.
