NEWS: Ghost Robot Hooks Up With Academy Films UK

NYC production company Ghost Robot has announced that London's Academy Film will represent their directors in the UK. Ghost Robot will continue to provide representation in the US, in addition to repping the  Encyclopedia Pictura directing team worldwide.

NEW RELEASE: The Horrors "She Is The New Thing"

The Horrors emerge from an artist's bloody mess of a desk in this most recent excellent clip from the band's debut album Strange House. "She Is The New Thing" is a freakishly animated tale in which a portrait of a fiendish girl comes to life and bedevils the band to their very end with crows, bugs, and feral animals as her accomplices. Drawn on wrinkled paper in the style of a messy black-and-white comic, "She is the New Thing" tears apart almost every other video animated in a similar fashion. It'll also probably tear apart the censors too, so don't expect to see this broadcast on your TV. Best watch it here before they start regulating the Internet. NEW RELEASE: Mew "Special"

A wealthy couple tries to dance away the ennui at a huge country manor in the shadowy b&w video for this new wave cut from Danish band Mew. Despite their manic efforts — and a Crouching Tiger segment in which the woman imagines floating away — the pair devolve into a fight and wind up trying to leap into the nearest body of water. Description: The song may be called "The Boxer," but the video has more to do with basketballers. A young man's basketball comes alive while he walks through an underground garage. The ball works its way out of his gym bag and proceeds to bounce around the city of London. The owner doggedly pursues, but he isn't able to secure the ball before it first gets run over by a truck driven by The Chemical Brothers and then over-inflates and explodes in a phone booth. Keep an eye out for a cameo by guest singer Tim Burgess of The Charlatans.
