Column of the Week
Written by Richard Shade Gardner
Sunday, 09 March 2008
Thank you all for checking in on this weekly blog every week for the last three years. Our goal was to share the many positive aspects of daily life in Upstate New York. I feel we achieved that goal. I have now launched a new blog, Burning Wood, a more personal and reflective blog. I am hoping it will be as popular and well-read as Rochester Blog has been. Please check it out at: http://richardshadegardner.wordpress.com/

The third man sat down at my table, directly opposite me.

Homeless in ten degrees: part I
Column of the Week

How would you like to be homeless when the temperature outside is 10 degrees? That’s what it’s been for the past two days here in Rochester. I know, homeless people are homeless year-round, but days like these make me think about their lot in life. Awhile back a friend and I volunteered to be overnight supervisors at Dimitri House, operated by Corpus Christi Church.
