You hear the thunder of stampeding rhinos, elephants and tacky tigers

1) Omikron KARMA has been killed because the David Cage did not feel the story was up to par; however, something not Heavy Rain has taken the place of that title.
2) Also, I can confirm I was right (as were many others), that PS3 title the BBC journo said was going on about is indeed Heavy Rain. The teaser trailer, which will see release sometime in the next few months, follows the main character from a morning ritual to the frantic reaction to a seeming lacuna in time (the subsequent journey is the game's main plotline) and the explanation of the game's title. The technology is quite impressive, all the characters in the game are aware of the environments and contexts that they are in--it effects how they behave, what they say, how they feel, et cetera--while taking in their personality and personal experiences into account so that a character's behavior is consistent, realistic and varied.
3) Beicouver (or Vanjing, whichever one prefers) developer Next Level Games' next title is a downloadable affair for 360.
4) A Montpellierian says Yoshitaka Amano is hooking up with Ubisoft, possibly for Beyond Good & Evil 2 (not the most surprising thing in the universe, as the Ancel-Amano relationship is rather amicable), which three Montpellierians say is just starting production (which contradicts what I previously heard...I think and totally disappoints me).

Possibly the zenith of Los Angeles' musical output.

Hmm...it is a bit disappointing, but the fact that Beyond Good and Evil 2 seems to be even in production is fantastic. I didn't think that would ever happen...such a deserving game for a sequel.

I don't mean to be picky, but Amano's name is spelled Yoshitaka Amano. :D

Disaster: DOC how is it shaping up?

That song is even better with added Faith No More.

News of a possible BG&E; sequel makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

If BG&E2; just started production, that is quite a bit disappointing. While its great to hear that the rumor is gaining more ground, how far off does this make it? The original took some 3 years to make. Are we to believe this will be faster??? Even 2 years would be an extremely long time.

So, surfergirl, should we expect any news about this at Ubidays 2008 in Paris? Thanks.

Yeah, Sparks rock. The funny thing is, they sound so un-L.A. that I always thought they actually were English! Did you hear about their 21 concerts in London this year? Amazing.

Heavy Rain - any idea about gameplay? Will there be killing people in it, or will my wife be able to enjoy it? (She doesn't like games where you have to kill people).

Surfergirl,

I think you confused the article, here is the correct link to the article about Heavy Rain and the BBC reporter...

http://softrockhallelujah.blogspot.com/2008/02/well-start-knocking-door-to-door-and.html

As far as Omikron goes, how far in development was it? because you haven't said anything about it...

Also, I know it is old, but do you have any information about this?

http://www.gametrailers.com/player/usermovies/194269.html

Is it actually a game or just a tech demo?

-Any news on the Team ICO projects? rumored release dates?

-How is the development of the PS3 Final Fantasy games coming along?

-There was this interview with one of the devs of DMC4, when asked about DMC Series (the PSP titled) he just replied "no comments", any news regarding it? is it coming or has it been completly cancelled?

-Any news on Jaffe's next project? what about Incognito? Will there be a new Twisted Metal?

and last but not least, a few weeks ago, Johnny Lee made this Headtracking video, then this guy from Santa Monica studios tweaked the code for the PS3, and then MTV's Stephen Totilo showed a video of some sort of early build of this headtracking tech at GDC

http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/27/ps3-head-tracking-only-needs-camera/

So I was wondering if any game has been announced that makes use of it?

(I apologize for the long comment, I'm too impatient in regards of all of these subject)

hi, any news or dates for HOME ?

In fact, as I previously stated, it's not that it is just starting. The demo presented to Ubisoft siege included many models and an already created background, and some animations.
So the development is not starting froms scratch per say.

But it's going to take a long time anyway knowing Ubisoft Montpellier production rate...

I think that whenever anyone asks about Team Ico games, SG waits until that post drops off the bottom of the front page before showing up to answer questions...;) hope I'm wrong this time :)

I heard it as Hongkouver years ago. The largest Chinese population outside of China.

So the teaser for Heavy Rain is due to drop in 'a few months'...at Sony Gamer's day, I take it? Which would mean we could expect Sony Gamer's day to be in May or June?

BG&E2; JUST started production?

:\

I guess I won't be playing it as soon as I thought...although I'm just glad it's actually being made. Yet another reason my dollars tend to drift towards Ubi and away from EA.

QFT! FTW! etc. Don't forget "Something For The Girl With Everything", too.

I would like to know what Anonymous 3 asked.

Any news on Team ICO, and also what tom said, any deia abotu Heavy Rain gameplay?

Anyway, how can it have been Heavy Rain, it said the title was unannounced. Was that a BBC cock-up?

this is an awesome song, but they aren't better than the doors.

What systems will our anticipated Beyond Good and Evil 2 be coming for? (Wii I hope)

Anonymous said...

BGE 2: Lead platform X360, ported to PS3. Nothing on Wii is to be done.

I've seen some models, and background of the demo, there is no way it could run on Wii.

False.

Do you know if the rumor about sony buying a major third Party member is true.

I have heard two third party members the most likely chance it would be is Take Two so Sony would get Rock*. The other one those seems like a better chance.

The company is Infogrames. With Phil Harrison going to that company allowed Sony to buy them.

So are either of these the company's Sony bought or is it some one else.

anonymous one: Noted, thanks.

anonymous two: Not a clue.

richard: No, that is utter blasphemy.

darth tigris: Next decade, no. Very doubtful.

tom: They definitely don't sound like they are from Los Angeles. Yeah, another thing to add to the list of missed once-in-a-lifetime experiences. HR is an adventure game ala Indigo Prophecy, it is not really bringing anything new to the table in terms of gameplay.

anonymous three: Thanks. I don't think it ever went into full production. Tech demo, as far as I know. No. Fine. No, canned. It's a new TM, Incognito has more downloadable fun up its sleeve. Not that I know of.

fersis: No.

anonymous four: I was implying it was out of pre-production and into full production.

anonymous five: No, Next Level has studios in both Vancouver and Beijing, I'm just fusing the two cities.

anonymous six: Probably E3.

anonymous seven: More of this blasphemy? You folks are crazy.

lb003g0676: Possible.

anonymous eight: I forgot The Doors were from LA, but could Sparks qualify in the number two?

anonymous nine: I hate to prove you wrong, but a few Londoners and few Parisians who should know whether or that game is HR say otherwise.

blackicejoe: False. Phil Harrison is not welcome back at Sony.
