2. Folder View

Find all the above tables using the folder view facility.

To use Table Builder you need

MS Windows operating systems and one of the following web browsers, with JavaScript enabled:

• Internet Explorer, version 5.5 or later. (Recommended: Version 6.0 or later.)
• Netscape, version 7.1 or later
• Firefox, version 1.0.7 or later.

Macintosh operating system (Mac OS) is supported only when running Netscape 7.2 or Firefox 1.5 (or later versions). Internet Explorer for Macintosh does not work with table builder.

Table Builder Help Notes

There are help notes available within Table Builder itself. We recommend that users click on the tutorial. The ABC tutorial is on the top right of the Table Builder screen.

Table Builder upgrade

Table Builder has been upgraded.

The upgraded Table Builder is simpler and easier to use.

The main changes you will notice are:

• there is a new online tutorial.
• instead of using the left hand menu to select variables, you will be able to click on the variable heading within the table to view the variable 'item list'. A menu interface similar to the current Table Builder will still be available by using the 'action' drop down menu.
• large tables will be available in one view, rather than a few rows and columns appearing at a time. This will enable you to keep scrolling until you reach the information you want. When scrolling down the web page, column and row headers will always be visible for reference.
• you will be able to sort data within columns, either in ascending or descending order.
• variables for selection will be indicated by shading. This function becomes available when viewing the variable 'item list' and is a simple visual guide to indicate what will be selected/de-selected before you click on them.
• chart and graph facilities will be enhanced and of print quality.
• a 'reset default view' option under the 'action' drop down menu will enable you to go back to the original table.
• you will be able to view multiple variable items as one table or scroll through each item individually. For example, you will be able to view one years worth of data at a time, or one age group, or one occupation.

Note for regular users of Table Builder: you will need to set new bookmarks, as your previous ones will not work after the upgrade.
