Even before independence, Kerala had been in the forefront
in the matter of literacy and it retains this rank even now.
Today Kerala is the most literate State in India. Kerala achieved
the highest literacy rate of 90.92% among the states in India
. In which female literacy rate of 87.86% and a male literacy
rate of 94.20% in 2001.In the sector of education in Kerala
the accent is on improving quality. In higher education the
available infrastructure is being optimally used through new
job oriented courses. The 'Sarva Siksha Abhiyan' of Government
of India will be properly integrated with local government
plan and education.
