Palo Alto, California, 15th February, 2008 - Team High Road held its 2008 Team Presentation today at the Cubberly Theatre in Palo Alto, California. A large crowd attended to help the men and womens team launch a new season with a new spirit in a brand new racing kit.

Followed by an inspirational introductory video shot at the team training camp the previous week, cycling commentator Phil Liggett presented the team starting with the introduction of Team owner Bob Stapleton and the news that Team High Road had today been invited to the RCS Sport events including the Giro dItalia . Bob talked about the goals and methods of the team including the teams belief in clean and fair sport, the focus on young talent, teamwork and emphasis on the best tools, practices and partners.

Another short video followed voicing the athletes vision of the team.

Bob went on to introduce a new partner of the team, that of the Right To Play organisation. Right To Play is an organisation that uses specially designed sport and play programs to improve health, build life skills, and foster peace for children and communities affected by war, poverty and disease.  It is a global scale implementer of Sport for Development and Peace programs and takes an active role in driving research and policy development.

Two representatives of Right to Play, renowned film maker Kate Duhamel and US Olympian Whitney Ping joined the stage to describe their work with the organization and their experiences in Liberia and Lebanon. Ping explained her passion for Right To Play and for cycling and how Team High Roads mission was the perfect fit for RTP.

One of the things that sets Team High Road apart is the fact that it has a womens team. Made up of 13 riders from around the world, the team finished the 2007 season ranked number one. Bob and Womens Team Manager introduced the girls and the new Team Director Ronny Lauke along with Coach Petra Rossner and Phil Liggett began his highly amusing and entertaining show by interviewing the riders starting with a new member of the team and current US National Road Champion Mara Abbott.  Two other new riders including German National Champion, Luise Keller and another young talent out of Germany Madeleine Sandig join the 10 remaining members from 2007.

Following the women, Phil brought out the young guns of the mens team. The impressive line up of young talent included riders such as 2007 Rookie of the year Mark Cavendish along with Yellow jersey wearer Linus Gerdemann and a rider who won more races than anyone in the world last year besides Alessandro Petacchi, out of Norway, Edvald Boassen Hagen. Team High Road has 14 male riders ages 26 or under.

Phil Liggett had the crowd in stitches with his interview of Mark Cavendish which lead into another amusing introduction of the veterans. Following riders such as Bradley Wiggins, Kim Kirchen and Roger Hammond, George Hincapie took the stage riding the new Giant Prototype Giant TCR Advanced. George explained that the new bike is the product of a lot of co-operation between Giant designers and the team to come up with a finished product that is light, stiff, strong, smooth and most importantly super fast.

The show ended with another short video and the reveal of the team as a whole after which the guests, sponsors and media convened to the balcony for coffee and snacks.
