My name is Justin Hall. I'm nearly 30 years old. In the fall of 2004, I
applied to the University of Southern California's School of Cinema Television's Interactive Media program, focusing on video game design.
I did my undergraduate work at Swarthmore College, in Pennsylvania, graduating in 1998 with a special major in "Meaning, Context and Media."
I've been working, writing and speaking about digital culture; samples of my work are online
here. My areas of focus include the social impact and subversive uses of video games and mobile phones.
Between 1994 and 2003, when I wasn't elsewhere, I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, specifically Oakland. During that time, I worked with
Howard Rheingold,
Chris Hecker and
Ryan Junell.
Between 2001-2003 I lived in Japan, working with
Mizuko Ito and
Joichi Ito.
Now, I live in
Culver City. And I work with you!
