Animal Chiropractic Certificate

 

A joint program by Seneca College Faculty of Continuing Education and Training, Veterinary Technician Program and CMCC Division of Continuing Education.

This is a 210 hour certificate program completed in 5 modules of 42 hours each.  The curriculum will provide knowledge and skills necessary for DCs and DVMs to provide chiropractic/manual therapy to animals.  The program includes classroom, independent and hands-on instruction.

This program is provided for the education of licensed/registered DCs and DVMs in the chiropractic and manual therapy management of animals.  Practitioners will be able to complete an appropriate history, physical examination, communicate a diagnosis and plan of management, and provide care where indicated within their respective scopes of practice.  Knowledge of legislation and ethics  pertinent to provision of animal chiropractic care will be taught.

Upon successful completion of this program, practitioners may be eligible to take the AVCA certification examination.

Faculty

Both Doctors of Chiropractic and Veterinarians are present as instructors in all modules, bringing together the necessary aspects and experience of both professions.

Location

Seneca College, King City Campus, 13990 Dufferin Street King City Ontario.  All classes will be held in the Animal Health Centre on campus.

Cost

In order to achieve the Animal Chiropractic Certificate, students must register in all five (5) modules.  The cost of each module is $1000.00 (includes lunch).

Admission Requirements

Student must be a licensed/registered DC or DVM with up-to-date inoculations for Tetanus, Hepatitis B and Rabies.
