Air Dates: 1967-1970
Company: Marvel Comics
Cast and Crew: Paul Soles as Spider-man
Accuracy of Translation: Good. Many of the episodes were adapted directly from issues of Amazing Spider-man.
Favorite Character: Peter Parker, y'all.
Awesome Villain: We've always enjoyed Mysterio and that confusing fishbowl helmet.
Breakout Star: Paul Francis Webster -- the lyricist who penned the opening theme song.
Favorite Episode: "Revolt in the Fifth Dimenson" -- originally pulled by ABC for being too far out.
Best Season: Season one.
Coolest Costume: Electro in a queaker.
Girl Factor: Betty Brant was just the first among the many love interests for Peter Parker, who was much more of a player in the cartoon than in the comics.
About the Show: Spider-man, Spider-man, does whatever a spider can!
Holy crap, it feels good to sing that, right? In fact, chances are you busted out a few lines from the Spider-man theme song at some point over the last few months. Maybe you were on the subway, maybe you were getting your nails done or working on a presentation for a big client, but at some point, you just had to let it fly.
Well, trust us: you're not alone. As Homer Simpson proved last summer, everyone loves Spider-man and the 1967 Spider-man cartoon. Sure the animation is poor and the dialogue is dated; but that theme song will last forever.
