Marchers hit the streets in Frome last Friday (2nd May) in protest against the closure of local printing firm Butler & Tanner. Butler & Tanner's parent company Media & Print Investments (MPI) closed the Somerset printing firm in late April over a dispute about proposed industrial action, making 287 workers immediately redundant. Friday's demonstration, organised by the trade union Unite and including local workers and residents, was intended as a show of support for the company's former staff, around 200 of whom are members of the union.
