Welcome To Cottesbrooke Junior School

At Cottesbrooke Junior School we aim to be a caring school community, working together for quality and success in education
History

Cottesbrooke Junior School opened on 6th September 1968. The combined school, now Cottesbrook Infant School, was so oversubscribed that the local church hall was also being used as additional space. Two old Victorian houses were demolished to allow for a new school to be built in this community. The combined school became two separate schools and the Head Teacher moved over the road to take over the new Junior School and a new Head teacher was appointed for the Infant School. Since then the community has remained stable in numbers but has seen many changes with new ethnic groups and a complete change over of the original population. The senior age groups have all but gone and many young families have moved onto the Stockfield Estate. This was opened on a phased programme and was completed at the start of the new Millennium.

Cottesbrooke Junior School is an inclusive school, and provides excellent support for all abilities and backgrounds. We have a strong SEN programme and we support many children from the area. We currently have around 230 children on roll with numbers rising.

The community sees the Infant and Junior Schools as one educational process, and 80 children joined us in September 2005 from the Infant School. We run a comprehensive induction programme and the children are given the opportunity to visit the Junior School a number of times before they transfer. We have a strong distinct, caring ethos and produce calm, well-behaved children with a strong sense of self-esteem and caring for others. This was noted by OFSTED in our last two inspections.
