One in eight women are diagnosed with breast cancer. Breast cancer can strike any woman - your mother, sister, aunt, best friend - even you.
News Channel 3 is committed to fighting the battle against breast cancer with a year-long advocacy campaign designed to increase awareness, provide information and make a difference in saving lives.
News Channel 3 has dedicated the 3rd of every month as Lifelong Friends Day. Each month, News Channel 3 will send out a monthly email reminder to encourage our Lifelong Friends to conduct a self exam and to register for a FREE examination packet.
Throughout the month, log on to wreg.com and click on Lifelong Friends. If you are not already a Lifelong Friend, sign up to receive the monthly email reminder. Then, register to win great prizes. Each month, Lifelong Friends will give away a gift basket from Super D drugs to one lucky winner chosen through a random drawing of all registered entries received online.
Winners of the basket from Super D will be notified by email and instructed on how to receive their prize. Only one winner will be chosen each month.
Our Lifelong Friends Program is set up to provide you with a system of simple monthly reminders, and to get a loved one involved in the program.
Here's how it works:
- Sign up for the Lifelong Friends program online at www.wreg.com.
- Place the stickers you receive in your Lifelong Friends information kit on your calendar on the 3rd of each month, to remind you to conduct your monthly BSE.
- Contact a reliable partner (sister, mother, daughter, or good friend) and ask her to join the program as your Lifelong Friend.
- Call your Lifelong Friend on the 3rd of each month to remind her to conduct a BSE or schedule a yearly mammogram.
- Be sure to register each month for the drawing and giveaway of the Super D Gift Basket full of health and beauty products from Super D.
