Bamboo Lacrosse
Warrior made its way into lacrosse on the titanium shaft. Talon is trying to make its mark with a wood-synthetic shaft. Scorpion is promoting its Exogrid technology for its new equipment. Me, I like the old aluminum myself, the better to see the damage you’ve caused with it.
But a bamboo shaft? Really?
Check out this little DIY project by poster Brennn10 at Instructables.com. Through a 12-step program, Brennn10 shows you had to pick, cut, refine, paint and do up a bamboo shaft for the lacrosse season. Now, these are not game ready of course. As the author says:
- “I am not liable for splinters caused by broken bamboo shafts. I do not recommend using this in games, just for use in practice with little contact. It is perfect for your shot practicing.”
Great stuff though. I googled lacrosse on the Instructables.com site but didn’t find anything else on their site concerning lacrosse. I know our boys at the Stick Doctor’s Lounge have some great concepts. Do you have a great artistic stick concept? E-mail geoff.shannon@insidelacrosse.com.
