Quaker Heritage

William Penn University is a liberal arts university founded by Quaker pioneers in 1873 with the ideal of providing quality education to all, and that ideal hasn't changed in over 130 years!

Part of Penn’s core curriculum is a study of the beliefs and heritage of the early Society of Friends (Quakers) that are the heritage and foundation of the institution. This study helps us understand ourselves and what we value, and how those values provide the basis for our actions.

The university is firmly rooted in its Christian heritage with certain characteristics distinctive to Quakers, but welcomes faculty, staff and students from all faiths.
