The course is regularly ranked among the top 5 golf courses in the U.S. The course was originally designed by Bobby Jones & Alister Mackenzie in 1933 with other designers adding their touch with changes over the years including Perry Maxwell, Robert Trent Jones, Jack Nicklaus, and Tom Fazio. The more difficult holes are the 11th, 12th, and 13th.
