Welcome
to the South Florida Squadron and Sea Scouting in the South
Florida Council
The South Florida Council services Sea Scout Ships
located in Broward, Dade, and Monroe Counties of Florida - from
Deerfield Beach to Key West.
Our sailing area is one of the
best in the United States. It includes the South Florida East
Coast, Biscayne Bay, and the Florida Keys. Our climate allows us
to conduct year round outings and activities.
Our area hosts major boat shows
each year in both Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Both cities host
major Cruise Line facilities and professional offshore powerboat
competitions. Miami is the headquarters for US Coast Guard
District 7. The Florida National High Adventure Sea Base is also
located within our geographic area and provides unique aquatic
experiences in the Florida Keys and the Bahamas.
The South Florida Squadron has
hosted the Southern Region Commodore's Cup for the past three
years and, in July 2006; Miami's Coral Reef Yacht Club will host
the William H. Koch, International Sea Scout Cup competition.
