Don Bosco Technical Institute conducted its first classes in 1955,
through the cooperative efforts of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles,
the Salesians of Saint John Bosco, and the industrial leaders of the
Greater Los Angeles Metropolitan area.
In 1963, the Institute was incorporated as a private non-profit
California corporation. In 1969, Bosco Tech opened its college and
established a "Five-year" program which gave students the opportunity
to complete minimum secondary requirements in three years followed by
a two-year program leading to an Associate in Science degree. Today
all students earn a high school diploma by taking a four-year college
prep program of studies which combines a challenging curriculum of
both academic and technical courses.
