Hans Kusters

Hans Kusters was born on January 5th 1942 in Breda (The Netherlands). When he moved to Belgium he started working for the Publisher Dupuis in Brussels where he translated the French written comic book “Robbedoes” in proper Dutch and wrote columns about Sports & Music.

In 1965 he joined Primavera, which was the publishing department from Philips, to work side by side with Lammy Vandenhout. Through his friendship with Johan Anthierens the love for the Dutch spoken music grew and he signed both “Wannes van de Velde” and “Ferre Grignard” to Primavera.

Artists such as Jan De Wilde, Walter De Buck and Guy Prieels were offered to release their debuts which kicked off their careers. In the meantime Hans was also writing a weekly musical column for Mimo and was the music supervisor for a TV show called “Tienerklanken Shebam” for the national TV station BRT.

In 1972 Hans decided it was time to take matters into his own hands and started Hans Kusters Music.

Hans Kusters has been a member of the local Belgian Society, SABAM, since 1970 and even became a member of the SABAM board in 1995.

With years of supporting and defending the local artists and the Dutch language, he was rewarded a ribbon by Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of The Netherlands and might Knight in the order of “Oranje Nassau”.
