Entrance Fees
Vehicle entrance fees are charged year round at Golden Spike National Historic Site. They are lower during the winter months when there are less visitor opportunities available. National Parks Pass, Golden Age, Golden Eagle, and Golden Access passes are honored. Entrance fees are as follows:

  • May 1st through early September: $7.00 per vehicle.
  • Rest of year: $5.00 per vehicle.

Commercial Rates
Commercial rates are set by legislation passed by the United States Congress and are not controlled by the individual parks. Commercial rates are based on the capacity of the vehicle and not the actual number of occupants. At Golden Spike National Historic Site commercial rates are as follows:

  • Commercial vehicles with a passenger capacity of 1-6 persons:
$25.00 and the per person rate
  • Commercial vehicles with a passenger capacity of 7-25 persons: $40.00
  • Commercial vehicles with a passenger capacity of 26 or more persons: $100.00

Fee Waivers
School groups or outings conducted for educational or scientific purposes by schools or other bona fide educational institutions may qualify for a fee waiver provided they meet ALL three of the following criteria:

1) Documentation of official recognition as an educational institution by a federal, state or local government entity. Documentation for a fee waiver can consist of a letter from the government body attesting to the legitimacy of the school or educational institution. A school does not necessarily need to be accredited to qualify.

2) Direct relationship between purpose of visit and facility use. Visit cannot be primarily a recreational outing.

3) Statement of visit purpose. Group must provide a statement of the purpose of the proposed visit and an explanation of what the educational purpose entails and how it relates to the park resources.

Fee Exemptions
School, religious, civic, or private groups who wish to perform service projects on a volunteer basis may qualify for a fee exemption. Service projects will vary according to the size and skills of the group, the length of time you can work, the priorities of Golden Spike National Historic Site, and the need of staff participation. Service projects MUST be arranged in advance.
