Coldplay Go Live

Concert album due in November

Posted Sep 04, 2003 12:00 AM

With their second album, A Rush of Blood to the Head, still ensconced in the upper regions of the charts, Coldplay announced plans to release a live CD/DVD on November 11th.

The set was filmed on July 21st and 22nd at the Horden Pavilion in Sydney, Australia, and will include two new songs, "The One I Love" and "Moses." The DVD portion was filmed with nine cameras and, in addition to the ninety minutes of concert footage, will feature a behind-the-scenes documentary, a tour diary and other extras.

A Rush celebrated its one-year birthday this week by bouncing back into the Top Ten on the album charts, largely prompted by the band's success at the MTV Video Music Awards last week. The video for "The Scientist" took three awards for Best Group Video, Best Breakthrough Video and Best Director (for James Thaves). The album, which has sold more than 2 million copies, also won a pair of Grammys earlier this year.

Coldplay wrap a two-date run in Brazil tonight before heading to Mexico City for a pair of shows on September 7th and 8th, the last performances they have scheduled for 2003 after touring for much of the year.
