Vice President, Ticket Sales
Reports to: Senior Vice President, Business Operations

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the season, premium, group ticket sales and customer service group.
  • Prepare and manage an overall business plan and budget for the department including revenue goals, attendance targets, inventory, sales and retention tactics and contingency plans.
  • Compile periodic reports on current sales, trends, and other relevant issues to update executive management.
  • Develop annual sales plan for season, group and individual tickets.
  • Direct sales forecasting activities and setting performance goals.
  • Manage, supervise, motivate, and provide leadership to ticket sales staff.
  • Work in partnership with club departments such as Marketing, Promotions, Ticket Services, Park Operations, Corporate Sales, executive management and ownership to meet organizational goals.
  • Assist in the creation and development of ticket sales collateral materials.
  • Coordinate and conduct research with other teams to discover and implement new strategies or techniques.
  • Monitor season ticket holder feedback and identify trends to aid in forecasting ticket holder behavior.
  • Foster and promote a cooperative working climate, maximizing productivity and employee morale.
  • Responsible for creating an integrated written business plan for ticket sales and service.
  • Develop procedures for outbound sales efforts that address all ticket sales categories including single tickets, seasons, partials, premium, group, and service practices.
  • Develop customer service principles and systems that permeate all ticket sales functions with customer retention as the primary goal and ensure maximum utilization of CRM system.
  • Create/evaluate the commission/incentive structure for the Ticket Sales Department and the operating budget, including individual and department revenue goals. Maintain accountability/responsibility for expense budget and revenue goals.
The ideal candidate for this position will possess: Bachelors degree in Business, Sales or Marketing. 10 plus years experience in professional sports sales field. Must have excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and writing skills. Must possess negotiation and management skills with proven success at obtaining set objectives. Ability to work long hours, holidays and weekends.

Accountant - Temporary position for 3-4 Months

The Detroit Tigers are looking for an Accountant to assist us with accounting and finance activities. This position is a temporary position lasting 3 to 4 months. Person will be responsible for assisting with monthly financial statements, budget preparation, monthly bank reconciliations, preparation of monthly general ledger account analysis, and other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business; 1-3 years Accounting experience; excellent organizational skills; excellent Microsoft Excel spreadsheet development and manipulation skills a must; overall computer and word processing proficiency.

Local Area Network (LAN) Administrator
Reports to: Director of Information Technology

Under limited supervision and according to established policies and procedures, evaluates, installs and supports the company data communication networks, hardware and procedures.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Evaluates, coordinates and oversees installation of all data communications systems, specifically in the LAN environment.
  • Monitors and ensures optimum performance on all data communications systems to meet service level agreements and requires of a formal Disaster Recovery Plan.
  • Works with the technical shared services organization to troubleshoot all network connectivity issues including LAN and WAN environments.
  • Provides Game Day technical support to ensure a stable network environment for all game essential operations.
  • Provides in-house programming of company routers, switches, WiFi access points, and other data communication equipment.
  • Drafts and maintains documentation as part of a formal Disaster Recovery program to ensure business continuity.
  • Places data communication orders with the vendors and monitors company data communication expenses to work within established budgets.
  • Provides any needed training on company communication system and procedures.
  • Maintains and enhances technical competency for communication products and services.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
  • Three years LAN support experience in a Cisco network environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related area.
  • Five years of related network support experience.
  • Knowledge on Cisco enterprise routers, switches, and WiFi access points preferred.
  • Knowledge of Windows communications and networking preferred.
  • Cisco certifications preferred.
  • Ability to work in varying conditions for installation activities that would cause exposure to noise, dust, and electrical components.
  • Ability to work with continuous exposure to video terminals.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that balances Game Day responsibilities along with normal business day coverage and occasional off hours support or project work.
