Rangers defender David Weir has revealed his desire to continue playing next season.

The 38-year-old, who joined the Ibrox club in January 2007, is out of contract in the summer after playing 60 games for Rangers this season.

The former Hearts and Everton player has also won 60 caps for Scotland.

Celebrating the Scottish Cup final win over Queen of the South, Weir told BBC Sport: "This makes it all worthwhile. I'll definitely play on."

Weir has also praised Rangers' resolve after losing a 2-0 lead at Hampden before coming back to win 3-2.

"Queens dragged themselves back into it so great credit to them," he said.

"But we found something, I don't know where we found it from but we found something and Boydy's done his bit again."
