 Pittsburgh Penguins
Mar 28, 2008, 3:18 PM EDT

As the Penguins’ popularity soars, so do the club’s TV ratings.

Thursday’s game between the Penguins and New York Islanders at Mellon Arena drew a 10.7 rating on FSN Pittsburgh – the second-highest all-time rating for a Penguins regular season game on FSN.

Only Mario Lemieux’s dramatic comeback game on Dec. 27, 2000 drew a higher rating – a 15.9.

FSN’s Penguins broadcasts are leading all FSN-affiliated regions in NHL ratings for the second straight year.

Earlier this season, the Penguins also drew their highest all-time rating for a regular season road game on FSN – a 9.28 against Tampa Bay.

The top five Penguins regular season ratings on FSN of all-time:

1. Dec. 27, 2000 vs. Toronto, 15.9

2. March 27, 2008 vs. NY Islanders, 10.7

3. March 18, 2007 vs. Ottawa, 9.7

4. January 23, 1997 vs. Colorado, 9.4
