E3 Excitement!

Wow, what a day it's been! Pokemon.com is here in the heart of Los Angeles, bringing you the latest news from E3, the world-famous Electronic Entertainment Expo! Not only has it attracted a huge crowd of people involved in the gaming industry, there are lots of attendees here from around the world - just try and identify all the languages you'll hear spoken on the convention floor!

But Nintendo's upcoming new console, the Nintendo Wii, is designed so it's intuitive to use no matter what language you speak. Just hold the motion-sensing controller in your hand and move it as if you're actually interacting with the game! Nintendo's booth was packed with attendees eager to experience this system for themselves, and since Nintendo's E3 theme is "playing is believing," of course we tried out the Wii, too. We definitely had a lot of fun - playing really was believing! (More about that in tomorrow's installment!)

The June 11th launch of the Nintendo DS Lite was another notable announcement here at E3. Smaller and even easier to use than the original handheld system, the Nintendo DS Lite is sure to be a hit with gamers everywhere - especially when Pokémon Mystery Dungeon and Pokémon Ranger arrive later this year! Attendees could try demo versions of these games on the Nintendo DS Lite at Nintendo's E3 booth, and we think Pokémon fans will really enjoy these two new takes on the Pokémon universe. Attendees who tried these games at E3 also got to enjoy an exclusive E3 giveaway, a Pokémon 10th Anniversary card case to hold Nintendo DS Game Cards! Lucky them!

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon is a unique game with an intriguing storyline: one day, you wake up and discover that you've become a Pokémon! You'll soon make a new Pokémon friend who'll help you out as you embark on various missions, and teamwork is essential if you want to master the tasks ahead. This may be an adventure game, but strategy is always important when it comes to Pokémon! One of the coolest aspects of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon is that once you become a Pokémon, you can talk to the Pokémon friends that you meet. Sounds like a Pokémon fan's dream come true!

In Pokémon Ranger you'll play a human character, but of course you won't be without Pokémon. The special features of the Nintendo DS are key to this game - but how? Well, don't worry, we'll tell you more about that in the months ahead! In fact, there's a ton of cool Pokémon happenings headed your way later this year as we celebrate our 10th Anniversary, so stay tuned to Pokemon.com. You won't want to miss any of the great things we've got planned! And E3 isn't over yet, so come back tomorrow for more info and impressions from this amazing event!
