The 2008 MTB World Cup season for gravity riders is all set to get underway, and reigning world champion Sam Hill has already shown he'll once again be the one to beat.
Last Sunday saw the UCI mandated test event take place in val Di Sole, Italy. The terrain gave the world's best a first look at the course that will decide the 2008 world champion next month.

Sam took the win in the final by more than five seconds over Steve Peat, a result that had many in the paddock scratching their heads trying to figure out where they went wrong.

"My run in the final was OK. The track has lots of line choices, it's technical and a lot of fun, but this can make it really hard to get a perfect run on it. I thought it was cool to have this warm up race to see where my race speed is before heading into World Cup 1," said Hill, according to moredirt.co.uk.

The riders are now settling into Maribot, getting ready for the official ractice starting Friday.
