LeSportsac Moves Into "The O.C."

LeSportsac is thrilled to become the handbag of Orange County, California with the highly anticipated collaboration with Warner Bros. Consumer Products on behalf of the smash-hit television drama, "The O.C." Since its debut on Fox in 2003, "The O.C." has become a cultural phenomenon, acting as a platform for trend setting fashion, cutting edge music and an overall aspirational lifestyle. LeSportsac, the forefront American designer of affordable luxury rip-stop nylon bags, has lead the accessory industry via collaborations with high-profile designers, such as Jonathan Adler, Diane von Furstenberg, Gwen Stefani, and most recently, tokidoki. For Fall 2006, LeSportsac adds "The O.C." to this roster with the LeSportsac for THE O.C. collection, an exclusive line of fashion forward handbags, accessories and travel bags for men and women all inspired by the trends of "The O.C."

According to Julianne Applegate, Director of Product Development for LeSportsac, and Elizabeth Kiester, Chief Creative Director, "This collaboration is as unique and creative as any other partnership we have done in the recent past in that it allows us to explore a new outlet of pop culture and use a hit television show as inspiration." Steve Jacaruso, President of LeSportsac, adds, "I believe this can be LeSportsac's most successful collaboration to date; the popularity of 'The O.C.,' combined with the exciting new LeSportsac styles and prints, will attract a broad range of men and women, both fans and non-fans of the show."

The LeSportsac for THE O.C. collection brings the classic style and fashion-fun look of LeSportsac to four individual lines, each inspired by the show's lifestyles and trend setting styles. Unlike any other bags on the market, these chic handbags, totes, weekenders and accessories will debut in metallic fabrics, graffiti patterns and floral designs.

Designing the line was a complete collaborative effort between the LeSportsac Product Development team, headed by Julianne Applegate, Robin West, Costume Designer to "The O.C.," and Stephanie Savage, Co-Executive Producer of "The O.C." Savage says, "We're hopeful that this product line will appeal not just to people who watch the show, but to people who like fashion. Fashion is a big part of the show, as it's how you understand their world."

Karen McTier, Executive Vice-President of Domestic Licensing and Worldwide marketing for Warner Bros. Consumer Products adds, "We are really excited to be working with LeSportsac on this new product line inspired by 'The O.C.' 'The O.C' has some very unique graphic elements that LeSportsac incorporated into the designs of the bags. We look forward to teaming up with them on this property and are sure that this is the beginning of a great partnership."

The LeSportsac for THE O.C. collection will be available for purchase starting mid-August 2006 and will be sold at LeSportsac stores around the world, on the Internet and in department stores worldwide. The LeSportsac for THE O.C. collection will retail between $40 and $198.00.
