to Explore 3D Business Opportunities
The U.S. Display Consortium (USDC) is teaming with leading display market research firm Insight Media to identify business opportunities and technical gaps in the 3D display industry. The alliance calls for researching and producing a 3D market and technology report, producing a 3D industry workshop based on the study, and determining the viability of a commercial working group that would focus on strategies for accelerating adoption of 3D technology, products, and systems.

- June 5th, 2006: OCUITY SHOWCASES STEREOSCOPIC 3D VIDEO ON CELL PHONES
Ocuity Ltd. (Oxfordshire, UK) announced today at the Society for Information Display Symposium in San Francisco that it hassuccessfully delivered switchable 3D video on a cell phone handset. This eagerly anticipated device is predicted to be theforerunner of a new generation of consumer 3DTV products.
- March 8th, 2006: Philips introduces new 42” 3D LCD display for a stunning 3D experience. Expanding its product portfolio of 3D displays for the professional market, Philips 3D Solutions introduces its 42” 3D WOW display with enhanced depth performance. Featuring an out-of-screen performance, whereby objects virtually fly in front of the screen, it immediately grabs the attention of the viewer.
- March 6th 2006, SEEREAL TECHNOLOGIES SHOW “NEXT GENERATION” 3D DISPLAY TECHNOLOGY
AT CEBIT. Three-dimensional imagery has been adopted early by specific industries including medicine, oil and gas exploration, and GIS. However mass-market adoption has been prevented by current limitations in the technology.
