World News Now

(weeknights from 2:00-5:00 a.m., ET)



"World News Now" begins the weekday network news schedule with a presentation of the latest news, business and weather reports. The program is broadcast live from 2:00-3:30 a.m., ET, allowing ABC affiliates to integrate their news coverage into network coverage in the early morning hours. "World News Now" premiered in January 1992.

In addition to bringing its viewers the morning's top stories and breaking news from around the world, this engaging, live broadcast presents everything from the important issues of the day to entertainment features. It also excerpts the best of ABC News' daily broadcasts and news magazines, featuring award-winning reporting from correspondents and anchors.

"World News Now" offers its viewers news coverage and features not always provided on traditional news programs. Some of the regular in-depth features include:

* "Their News" - a glimpse at how important stories of the day are reported in the cities and regions where the news is happening.

* "World News Vault" -- a nostalgic look at how ABC News covered important stories of the past.

* "The Skinny" - a wrap-up of the top entertainment and pop culture headlines.

* "American Landscape" - stories from across the country that present a unique portrait of American life.
