— A Corpus Christi family who says they were driven from their home after their teenage daughter was terrorized by evil will have their story profiled today to a national audience.

“We couldn’t get out of that house fast enough,” said Judy McCarthy, 61, a retired telephone company worker. “Everything in my daughter’s room felt eerie and the room was always cold,” McCarthy, said. “It started with knocking sounds on walls that got louder, and every morning at 7 a.m. our TV came on with no one in there.”

Corpus Christi Spook Central, a paranormal group, investigated in February and as a camera moved without assistance, a voice was recorded, the experts said. The investigators recorded “I’m here for the child,” said Margaret Prescott, founder of the spirit seeking organization.

The story is being featured at 1 p.m. Friday on Discovery Channel’s “A Haunting ‘Stalked by Evil’”

“There were unexplained happenings,” Prescott said. “A mother and her 18-year-old daughter were hearing footsteps, noises, and the girl was being tormented,” Prescott said about the home at 1254 Hayward Drive.

McCarthy contacted the paranormal investigators after she took a Bible through her home blessing every room and the incidents escalated, she said.

“It got worse, and my daughter Caressa was locked in her bedroom, my husband tired to knock the door down, and we pulled her through a small furnace space in the wall into the hallway,” McCarthy said. “Something kept pulling her back while she screamed, but once we had her in the hallway the bedroom door just came open.”

Caressa slept on the couple’s bedroom floor until the family moved.

The local spirit searchers will host Ghost Tours at the historical Berclair Mansion in Beeville at 9:30 p.m. Friday Oct 26, and are reporting live at 10:30 p.m. Halloween night from the historic Lawrence Hotel in Dallas on an online radio talk show at www.ccspookcentraltalkradio.com.

“Everything is stirring up pretty good for Halloween,” Prescott said, “Our ghost tours at Heritage Park were packed earlier this month, everyone’s getting into the spirit of it.”

The paranormal group has reached across Texas and into Oklahoma, opening the Oklahoma Paranormal Spook Central in September.

“We’ve received so many investigation requests from individuals, businesses and organizations,” Prescott said, “apparently we’re getting to that bewitching hour around Texas and beyond.”

I once had a paranormal experience at Heritage Park as a kid when I was sitting on a porch step and suddenly was enveloped by a darkness and foul stench even though the sun was still in the sky.

Fortunately, it was not an evil entity... just some sweaty, fat guy blocking out the sun while walking up the steps. WHEW!!!

Because many of the removed posts are funny based on the following post commenting that it was humorous. (See Post 9). One post utilized a Jim Carey spin and reported that his pants were always haunted about 7 hours after eating Mexican food. Apparently discussing flatulence or maybe that fact that I referred to a specific type of cuisine is beyond the bounds of accepted decorum. So based on the posts I have read recently, it's acceptable to insult each other, their ethnicity, choice or non-choice of religion, berate our country and call each other a variety of cleverly mis-spelled foul names... But you better not talk about digestive gases. That's just going too far, Mister!

If you want to feel the presence of the unknown, try Ray high School.

    related links Posted by 303650 on October 19, 2007 at 11:45 p.m.

Is Ray the high school that resides right beside a cemetery? Why on Earth would anyone put a school right beside a graveyard? I would've transfered to another school.

Ray High School does not reside close to a cemetery it's Roy Miller High School. Do you really live here in Corpus Christi and not know the two schools and where there located?

THE SANDCASTLE APTS. on Everhart & Snowgoose are haunted. They were built over a cemetary. Good Luck if you live there. The front office will never admit it but many people have left because of ghost that appear.

Lots of people see the ghost of a renter that used to wear his underwear over his dress pants at Sandcastle Apts. That's scary!

I think my house is haunted, seriously. There's some weird stuff that happens on a regular basis. I live in a 5 bedroom house, a couple of the rooms are not being used, sometimes we hear steps in the rooms but noone is there, you can also hear like someone breathing near you, there has been times where lights flicker and you can feel someone's presence, it's weird. This house is haunted 4 real.

Thanks for understanding Bubbadog. I typed the flatulence post with no intention to offend anyone, just give a few people a little smile. We will both probably be removed for having a strange sense of humor, but at least we didn't lie. It was worth it.

Has anyone heard of the ghost of a cook at a Chinese restaurant that reportedly stands on the side of the road and throws things at your passing vehicle? My college room mate claims that he barely dodge a cardboard carton that was tossed at his vehicle while driving down South Staples by a closed down restaurant where he later found out this individual used to work. It was rumored that this cook when he was alive could throw a box of sesame chicken across the room withe deadly accuracy. I believe his name was Hu Flung Pu. Be careful, because the soy sauce might get in your eyes and sting really bad!
