General Manager, Kurt Silcott
The Calgary Roughnecks have released general manager Kurt Silcott Tuesday, May 20.
Silcott was the general manager of the Buffalo Bandits for eight seasons before he came to manage the Calgary Roughnecks three years ago.
Under Silcott, the team has a 25-23 record and acquired three consecutive playoff berths. This post-season playoff saw the Riggers’ make it to the second round of playoffs for the first time since 2005.
Team owner, Brad Banister has opted to take over general manager duties for now, and believes this to be a good move for both Silcott and the team.
Banister sees that both the team and Silcott are heading into different directions, and this move would allow both parties to succeed to their full potential.
"We all want to thank him for his time spent with the team and wish him well in the future," says Banister.
