Video of the Week | THE ARMY SCHOOL OF BAGPIPE MUSIC AND HIGHLAND DRUMMING, EDINBURGH
The Army School of Bagpipe Music and Highland Drumming was first established in 1959, and is now in the new School of Excellence at ‘Inchdrewer House’, a large listed building situated West of Redford Infantry Barracks in Colinton, Edinburgh. The house has been adapted to meet the needs of the School of Bagpipe Music and Highland Drumming, where it suits the drumming and piping as students can play indoors or outside.
Scotland on TV visited the school recently to meet the students and tutors to discover more - and even managed to film a rehearsal performance.

The Wonderful Island of Islay | The Isle of Islay is the southernmost island of the Inner Hebrides of Scotland and lies in Argyll and Bute, just to the west of Jura and around 25 miles north of the Irish coast, which can be easily spotted on a clear day.
The island boasts eight working distilleries, which, along with the stunning scenery, history and wildlife, are one of the main draws for visitors from all over the world.
Scotland on TV visited Islay in November 2007 as guests of Bowmore to see the island, meet the people, and, of course, taste some of the locally produced whiskies. We were blessed with wonderful weather, thanks to Islay's microclimate, and made three films. Links and more information on each can be found on our Islay page.
