Craig Ferguson amuses at White House correspondents' dinner

Did you catch Craig Ferguson at the splashy dinner Saturday night of the White House Correspondents' Association? C-SPAN offered arrival footage that made it look like the Academy Awards. You could see snippets of "American Idol" ejectee Michael Johns, Morgan Fairchild, Tracey Ullman and Jonas Brothers (who are coming to Orlando this week for the Disney Channel Games).

But Scottish-born Ferguson was the main story, because he was providing the comedy. CBS didn't miss a chance to hype the host of its "Late Late Show" this weekend: He was profiled this weekend on "CBS News Sunday Morning." And the plug was deserved: Ferguson is a delight.

On Saturday night, Ferguson steered a smart, amusing course with his remarks. This is a hard, hard night for any comedian. And let's face it: Journalists have thin skins and are very hard to please. So I loved that Ferguson dissed both Fox News Channel and The New York Times.

See parts two and three below the jump.

"Mad Men," "30 Rock," "Dexter" win Peabody Awards

Congratulations all around to the many deserving winners of the prestigious Peabody Awards, which were announced Wednesday.

AMC's "Mad Men" earned a Peabody -- no surprise there. No series last year received better reviews. Oh, and NBC's "30 Rock" won, too. (I hope that will mean more viewers for Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin.) Discovery Channel's "Planet Earth" collected a Peabody for being spectacular.

As for surprises ... Showtime's "Dexter" was a nervy choice, especially with its depiction of a serial killer who practices justice his grisly way.

Bravo's "Project Runway" was another surprise, and quite a pleasant one. Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report" was saluted for its sharp satire.

Lenny Kravitz explains his decision to remain celibate

Lenny Kravitz opens up about music, mom and headlines in an interview on "CBS News Sunday Morning" this weekend.

There's a purpose behind his decision to stay celibate.

"That's a promise I made to God three years ago," Kravitz tells correspondent Michelle Miller. "I believe, in the end, that's gonna help me to find the right person. God's gonna present me with the right person ... so I'm not gonna waiver on that."

    Other highlights from the interview:

"CBS News Sunday Morning" visits "Oscars of porn industry"; other segments on David Cosby, presidential oratory

How to cover the "Oscars of the porn industry"? Take the humorous route. CBS News has sent Bill Geist to the affar.

You can see his report about the 25th annual Adult Movie Awards this weekend on "CBS News Sunday Morning." Geist traveled to the event in Las Vegas.

And if that sounds too low-brow for the classy "Sunday Morning," the program also will offer a profile of rocker David Crosby, a Mo Rocca report on the Nevada Democratic Presidential Caucuses and a Jeff Greenfield report on presidential oratory.

    "Sunday Morning" airs at 9 a.m. on WKMG-Channel 6.
