Florida State University student clocks 4:06.19

BRITAIN’S Hannah England stormed to the NCAA title in Des Moines in devastating fashion. The student at Florida State University eased through the preliminary rounds and in the final, the 21-year-old benefited from the strong pace, storming to her second NCAA title of the season with a massive lifetime best of 4:06.19 – a PB by more than six seconds! Furthermore, England obtained the Olympic A standard for Beijing and on time this season, the Brit is ranked in the top ten.

The youngster narrowly missed Sonia O'Sullivan's collegiate record of 4:05.81, set in 1991 and was one second shy of Suzy Favor Hamilton's track record.

England defeated Kenya’s Sally Kipyego (4:06.67), who won the NCAA 5000m title the previous day.
