Biographies of Sports Online staff

Andrew Lundy joined CBC in 1998 as a web producer for CBC TV's Marketplace, and later created CBC.ca's Consumer zone. He moved to Sports Online in 2000 as its senior producer. Prior to coming to CBC, Andrew was an award-winning newspaper reporter for the St. Catharines Standard and the Financial Post. He studied graduate journalism at the University of Western Ontario, where he received his political science degree, and has also studied graduate international affairs at Carleton University.

Dan Tavares has been with CBC since 1998. His first year was spent writing for CBC4Kids. During that time he also worked on CBC's first Stanley Cup website. He joined the fledgling CBC Sports Online in 1999. He played leading roles on the Sydney, Salt Lake City and Athens Olympic websites, and has captained the section’s Stanley Cup coverage for the past few years. In 1995, Dan graduated from the University of Western Ontario with an honours degree in political science. He also has a print journalism diploma from Sheridan College.

Rob Sinclair has covered sports on television, on radio and online since 1984. He is a senior writer for CBC Sports Online, where he has worked since 2000. Rob previously worked as a sportscaster, reporter and host for CBC Television, CBC National Radio Sports, TSN, Global Television and The Fan 590. He has interviewed hundreds of sports legends and reported from several major championships including the Canada Cup, Grey Cup, Memorial Cup and Stanley Cup Finals. With Sports Online, he covers most major pro sports and events like the Olympics.

Signa Butler joined the CBC Sports Online crew in 2000 as a writer/editor for the Sydney Olympics. She holds a bachelor of arts in English and politics from Saint Mary's University, where she was an all-Canadian with the Huskies soccer team. After moving to Toronto, she attended Ryerson Polytechnic University for broadcast journalism. Since joining CBC, Signa has covered the 2002 world junior hockey championship from her hometown of Halifax, as well as multiple Stanley Cups, Grey Cups and Olympic Games, and over the past year led our coverage of both the 2005 Grey Cup and 2006 Hockey Day in Canada event.

John Molinaro worked as a sports and entertainment reporter with CANOE for three years before becoming senior editor of Sport Online's World Cup website in 2002. He moved on to the CBC's Archives website before returning to Sports Online as a full-time writer/editor in 2003. John served as senior editor of Sports Online's Euro 2004 website, which helped him win a 2005 CBC.ca Award of Excellence, and also led our coverage of the 2006 FIFA World Cup. He holds an honours BA in sociology from York University and a print journalism diploma from Sheridan College, and is also the author of The Top 100 Pro Wrestlers of All Time (Stewart House, 2002).

Doug Harrison is an award-winning journalist who joined CBC Sports Online as a writer/editor in October 2003. Prior to that, he spent four years as a writer/editor with Faceoff.com. He also worked as a sports reporter for the Sentinel-Review daily newspaper in Woodstock, Ont., where he won a Western Ontario Newspaper Award for sports writing in 2000. Doug is a specialist in hockey and football, and recently headed up our 2006 CFL preview section. He's freelanced for the Hamilton Spectator, Toronto Sun and various magazines, and graduated from Sheridan College in 1992 with a diploma in print journalism.

Tony Care came to Sports Online in 2003 and was part of CBC's successful Athens Olympic website. He has written about the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors for Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment. He also covered the 1999 Winnipeg Pan Am Games for Canadian Press and has freelanced for the Toronto Star. Tony graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in journalism in 1996. Tony was recently a senior writer covering Torino 2006 for CBC Sports Online, and also covered the 2006 and 2007 Stanley Cup playoffs for the site.

Jesse Campigotto first joined CBC Sports Online as an intern in the spring of 2005. Prior to that he covered local sports in his hometown for the Niagara Falls Review. Jesse holds an honours BA in history from the University of Guelph and a journalism-new media diploma from Sheridan College. He was recently a senior writer covering Torino 2006 for CBC Sports Online, and also covered the 2006 and 2007 Stanley Cup playoffs for the site.
