Britain’s oldest man and the last known survivor of the Battle of Jutland, Henry Allingham aged 109 has been captured as a hologram with the latest technology by Rob Munday, who also collaborated with Chris Levine and fellow holographer Jeffrey Robb in the recording of the holographic portrait of Her Majesty the Queen last year.
Rob Munday invited Henry Allingham to sit for a hologram to commemorate his loyalty, commitment and achievements. The historic hologram will join the ‘ Ghosts of Jutland’ on HMS Belfast and will be officially unveiled by the HRH the Duchess of Gloucester GCVO, Patron of the World War One Veterans Association at the Royal opening of the commemorative exhibition on 31st May 2006.
It is hoped that representing Henry Allingham through this new technology that captivates the reality of the veteran will appeal to children as the hologram is so lifelike and maintains a living presence that history books cannot give.
