Damien Broderick is one of Australia's most respected science fiction writers and author of K-machines, winner of the 2007 Aurealis award for best science fiction novel. Barbara Lamar is a Texan lawyer and permaculture farmer, with a degree in mathematics. The two married in Melbourne in 2002, and currently live in San Antonio, USA.

Having followed Broderick's books right from DREAMING DRAGONS through K-MACHINES, I always look forward to more of his high-minded science wrapped up in accessible, character-driven prose. In POST MORTAL, Broderick and Lamar exhibit their understanding of the human interactions that populate our world, this one or whatever comes after. In a novel based on the apparently contradictory premise of a post mortal promise, maintaining the humanity of those interactions showcases the authors' remarkable skills in both writing and conceptualizing the future. -- L.M.
