The Doctor, irate about the quality of the television shows, confronts station controller Roger Lowell, but soon recognises his stuffed toy as Beep the Meep. Grabbing Beep's weapon, the Doctor tells him he knows he's been manipulating Lowell for months, but with 80% of the public watching Audience Shares, Beep is close to victory as he plans to send subliminal messages to transform them into his killing machines. After the Doctor reveals he has already disabled Beep's control device and has been stalling him, Beep furiously charges onto Audience Shares to kill the final contestants. The Doctor is held back by the crowd, but catches Beep after the shooting only to reveal he drained the power on the gun. As Beep is taken away, the Doctor also reveals he bluffed Beep and never found his control system, meaning Beep had his army.
