Synopsis
Audience Shares host Robbie McHale announces they are close to discovering the winner. The Doctor, irate about the quality of the television shows, confronts station controller Roger Lowell, but soon recognises his stuffed toy as Beep the Meep. Grabbing Beep's weapon, the Doctor tells him he knows he's been manipulating Lowell for months, but with 80% of the public watching Audience Shares, Beep is close to victory as he plans to send subliminal messages to transform them into his killing machines. After the Doctor reveals he has already disabled Beep's control device and has been stalling him, Beep furiously charges onto Audience Shares to kill the final contestants. The Doctor is held back by the crowd, but catches Beep after the shooting only to reveal he drained the power on the gun. As Beep is taken away, the Doctor also reveals he bluffed Beep and never found his control system, meaning Beep had his army. McHale interviews the Doctor, but he tells the presenter that television is too limiting a medium, but promises he'll be hearing more from him…

Cover Blurb
Beep the Meep is back - and he's found a new channel for his aggression! A brand new series is about to make television history, but can the Doctor prevent his furry foe from turning a docu-drama into a crisis, or will the fluffy-wuffy animals get it in the neck? The first shots in the ratings war have been fired and the next one is aimed at your head ...
Story Notes
Issued on a free CD on Doctor Who Magazine #313 along with chapter one of "Invaders from Mars," this one-shot tale features Beep the Meep, a character from DWM's long-running comic strip. The story is a farcical play on reality television and the series' own history (including Beep's programme being put "on hiatus for 18 months").
