Reports in the Danish media suggest Liverpool are set to sign Herfolge forward Nikola Saric.
The Anfield club have yet to confirm the deal but it is believed the Danish under-18 international will arrive on a three-year contract worth an estimated £500,000.
If the Reds do make this signing official, they will have beaten off rivals for the left-footed player's signature including Tottenham, Barcelona and Charlton.
Saric told Dagbladet Koge: "This is a great opportunity for me. I will be training with the big players over there and I will be able to improve my technique in the reserve team. I am very happy about this, it's been a particularly hard season for me.
"I am ready for new challenges and I've been waiting for an opportunity like this one for a long time. Of course I will miss my friends and my club but I have goals in life and I need to face the challenges as they come," the 17-year-old added.
Herfolge sporting director gave his thoughts about this impending transfer to the club's official site.
Recalling a phone call he received from Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez, he said: "I almost thought it was a lie!
"We are pleased and proud that Nikola has gone to one of the world's best football clubs. We would have liked to have earned more money from Nikola but his injury and the fact that his contract expired in the New Year made it difficult.
"Liverpool acted extremely well in all cases and knew all the details. They have been fair in the process and could've waited until the New Year but they will have him over now."
