My new blog!

After months of work, hours of coding and more then a few cuss words...I am pleased to announce that my new blog is now open for business.

This section of my blog (now known as MajorNelson.com-The Complete First Season) will remain here as a reference point, but you should now pick up your personal belongings and step this way to the all new tricked out Major Nelson.com

If you deep linked to this blog, then you'll need to update your link to the new one.(hint: always save the main url. www.majornelson.com, as your favorite...that way when I change blog engines, I just re-point the re-direct to the new blog directory)

If you subscribe to my RSS feed...you don't need to do a thing, I took care of that for you, the RSS feed will now fill up with my posts from the new blog..cool huh?

See you over there. Please shut off the lights as you leave.

Almost there

The DNS information for my new server is taking a LITTLE longer then I'd like to spread across the internet. If all goes well (and if your reading this...we are headed in the right direction) then later today, I'll provide a pointer to the new blog from the old one.

My last post (on this system at least)

Sometime this week, I'll be switching my blog over to the new system. So for a day or two (at the most) my blog and RSS feed may be unreachable. Since getting the new blog ready for the move is taking so much time, I won't have time to do a blogcast this week....but I will return next week! (assuming the new blog does not blow up on me.)Don't worry if my blog dissapears and you get a 404 error...it will be back. It will still live at www.majornelson.com, so that's all you need to remember. When I do move it, I'll do my best NOT to break the RSS feed link...but I wanted to give everyone a heads up. Until then, this will be my last post until the new system is online. See you on the other side!

Scoble does not like my blogcast idea

My colleague Robert Scoble (one of the more well known bloggers on the planet) does not like my one man crusade to change the name of podcast to blogcast. He says is podcast stands for Personal On Demand-cast. Is that true? If so...then podcast does make sense. I think this is one of those things that we'll never know the real answer to.

Edit: Looks like someone else does not like the term podcasting either.

It's official...I am no longer doing podcasts

As I mentioned previously, I don't like the name podcast. So from now on, I won't be doing podcasts...I'll be doing blogcasts. Same thing, just a different name. Blogcast sounds better...and does not sound exclusionary.

What do you think? Can I get it to stick across the internet? Do we really want to give Apple more free exposure with the term ‘podcast’? They can pay me if they want me to use that term…but for now I am doing blogcasts.

New Xbox Live Arcade Title: Zuma

Just in time for Christmas...Xbox Live Arcade users can now download a demo of the highly addictive game "Zuma." Go grab it now and get your Zuma on. All Xbox Live users should have this title show up under the New Games section of Xbox Live Arcade by 6pm ET/3pm PT.

Here are some details:

- 1 Player
- Scoreboards
- Xbox Live Aware

Vibrantly colored balls spiral
toward the gaping jaws of a
cursed gold skull. Fire balls from
the idol's mouth to create a chain
of three or more of the same
color and make the string
disappear. You must clear all the
balls before they're devoured.
