Multi-million selling artists The Clipse, have recently linked up with indie label Koch Records for the long-awaited Re-Up Gang album. Formed in 2004, The Re-Up Gang consists of Pusha-T and Malice of Clipse and Philadelphia natives Ab-Liva & Sandman. After playing a vital role in the success of the We Got It 4 Cheap mixtape series, Ab-Liva & Sandman are looking to find the same recognition as their predecessors.
Slated to be released August 5th, the album will feature nine brand new cuts and three unreleased remixes from the third volume of the We Got It 4 Cheap series. "Everything happens for a reason. We put out the We Got It 4 Cheap series on our own for the streets and that helped keep us visible and build the Re-Up name as an entity," says Pusha-T of The Clipse.
"This time, [our manager] Tony Draper got with [Koch General Manager] Alan Grunblatt to put together an official album with new music and let Koch Records do what they do best. This release gives us something fresh in the marketplace to reward Re-Up fans while we continue to work on the Clipse album." Kicking off the buzz for the album is the Scott Storch-produced single "Fast Life", which is destined to become a strip club anthem.
